The weather was warm, had really enjoyable stay on Friday night. The location was best possible, relatively near The Lanes. It was located in a very nice area close enough to pubs, and Brighton for Lighthouse Family concert. The room was...

1. Design and comfort of bar area. 2. Bath and shower. 3. Peace and quiet.
1. Room service breakfast offers no hot options - not a good sign for a supposedly luxury boutique hotel. Even the pastries weren't warmed. And the fruit salad had sat out too long. 2. Late check-out requested; one hour offered and accepted but not noted on system so chased by phone the following morning with no apology! 3. Pillows too squishy. 4. No IPod docking station, usually a norm in boutique hotels.

Excellent location, 2 mins from seafront.
I have stayed at other Hotel du Vin's and was disappointed by some of the service elements. The restaurant service was poor - very slapdash, and it seemed like everyone around us had their orders forgotten by the waiters. Inexperienced staff, and also the housekeeper was extremely brusque. Not up to normal HDV standards which was a shame, and definitely not worth what we paid for the weekend considering the service.

Location excellent, ambience very good
Breakfast - toast served well before the breakfast came out, long time to wait for a cooked breakfast, eggs not cooked as ordered. Breakfast not very hot, toast cold when it came to the table. No complimentary water in the room, had to pay for it from the mini bar and was expensive.

Had an awesome time! The room was stunning, especially with that unexpected seaview and a cozy bath to unwind after a long day. Just a heads up, the air conditioning didn’t cool things down as well as expected, but overall, it was a lovely stay! 🌊
